IMPORTANT:
Cat 335-5330 is the FRONT SIDE timing gear cover gasket for the Perkins 1200 series engine (Cat C4.4/C6.6/C7.1 Tier 4). Perkins equivalent is T406926. The timing cover on these engines uses separate front and rear gaskets — do NOT order this part if you need the rear side gasket (Cat 330-4778 / Perkins T405824). Confusing front and rear timing cover gaskets is the most common ordering error.

Failure symptoms: oil weeping from the front timing cover, particularly visible around the crankshaft pulley area. When replacing, also inspect the front crankshaft seal and timing cover O-rings. These Perkins 1200 series engines are found in Cat excavators, backhoes, motor graders, and many other machines — always confirm the engine serial number as gasket dimensions can change between production dates.
