IMPORTANT:
This valve cover gasket fits the Cummins QSB3.3 with 4-valve head — specifically the 2012-2014 production range. Note that part 5271000 and 5271001 look similar but are NOT interchangeable — they cover different production years. The #1 ordering mistake is confusing the two, or ordering a 2-valve B3.3 gasket instead. Confirm your engine serial number and production date to select the correct part.

Failure symptoms: oil seeping from under the valve cover, oil pooling on the exhaust manifold, burning smell from oil hitting hot engine surfaces. Rubber gaskets on the QSB3.3 harden with age and heat cycling. When replacing, inspect the valve cover bolt grommets — worn grommets allow the cover to flex and break the seal. Clean both mating surfaces thoroughly and torque bolts evenly per the service manual.
