Description

YANMAR INDUSTRIAL ENGINES:
• Yanmar 4TNV88/4TNV94/4TNV98 4TNV88/94/98 Diesel (2002-2015)

JOHN DEERE COMPACT EQUIPMENT:
• John Deere 35D/50D/27D Yanmar 4TNV Diesel (2005-2013)

IMPORTANT:
This is a coolant temperature SWITCH (on/off) — NOT a variable temperature sensor. It has a single 1-pin connector and closes a ground circuit when coolant reaches the set point (105-115C) to trigger the overheat warning light. Do NOT confuse with 2-pin NTC temperature sensors that provide variable resistance output for gauges and ECU data. If your application needs a gauge-reading temp sensor, this is the wrong part.

Yanmar 4TNV88/4TNV94/4TNV98 engines are found in John Deere compact equipment (35D/50D/27D excavators), Takeuchi, and various OEM industrial applications. Uses M16x1.5 thread — unique to Yanmar and not interchangeable with M14x1.5, M12x1.5, or NPT sensors from other engine brands even if the single-pin connector looks similar. Failure symptoms: overheat warning light staying on or never illuminating. Before replacing, verify actual coolant temperature with a thermometer — if the engine is genuinely overheating, the switch is doing its job and the cooling system needs service.
⚠️ Confirm 1-pin switch (NOT 2-pin sensor) and M16x1.5 thread.
