IMPORTANT:
This SCV (Suction Control Valve) fits John Deere 4045 PowerTech 4.5L engines with Denso HP3 common rail fuel pumps. It mounts directly on the high-pressure fuel pump and regulates fuel flow into the common rail system. Do NOT confuse with 6068/6090 SCVs (DZ111135/DZ111136/DZ111138/DZ111141) — those fit 6-cylinder engines and are physically different. The 4045 SCV is specific to 4-cylinder applications including 5R/6M/6D-series tractors and 326E/328E/332E skid steers.
Failure symptoms: hard starting, engine stalls shortly after cranking, loss of power under load, rough idle, RPM stuck below 2000, and ECU diagnostic codes P0089 (SCV stuck) or P0628 (SCV open). Common rail systems operate at extreme pressures (25,000+ PSI) — installation requires absolute cleanliness. Even microscopic debris can damage injectors and the HP pump. Always replace fuel filters during SCV replacement. If the failure was caused by degraded fuel, flush the entire fuel system including tank and lines before installing the new valve.
