IMPORTANT:
EXHAUST valve for Caterpillar 3044C and 3044CT engines (3.3L, 4-cylinder). The Cat 3044C/T IS the Mitsubishi S4S engine — Cat 233-5470 directly cross-references to Mitsubishi 32A04-21100. If searching by Mitsubishi part number, the valve is identical. Requires 4 exhaust valves per engine. Do NOT confuse with intake valve 233-5469 (Mitsubishi 32A04-20100) — exhaust valves have a smaller head diameter and use high-temperature alloy.
This engine is used in Cat skid steers (236B-299C), compact track loaders (267B-289C), small dozers (D3C-D5G), and mini excavators (304CR-305.5). Also known as Cat C3.4 in newer documentation. When replacing, inspect valve guides for wear and valve seats for pitting or erosion. Replace valve stem seals. Exhaust valves see the highest thermal stress — check removed valves for heat cracking, face erosion, and tulip deformation. Adjust valve lash to spec after reassembly.
