IMPORTANT:
This is a .015" OVERSIZE STEM intake valve for John Deere 6076 (7.6L) and 6081 (8.1L) engines. This is NOT a standard-size valve — it has an oversized stem diameter (.015" larger than standard) designed for engines where the valve guides have been reamed/recut to oversize during a rebuild. If your valve guides are standard (not recut), do NOT order this valve — you need the standard-size intake valve instead. Ordering standard vs oversize is the #1 mistake with this part.
Requires 6 intake valves per engine (2-valve-per-cylinder design). The 6076 (7.6L) and 6081 (8.1L) share the same valves — the 6081 is a bored version of the same block architecture. During a rebuild, valve guides are reamed to oversize when they are worn beyond the standard service limit but the guide bore in the head is still within spec for reuse. If guides have been replaced with new standard guides, use standard-size valves. Always measure guide bore diameter before ordering to confirm whether standard or .015" oversize is needed. Replace valve stem seals and check spring specs during any valve job.
