IMPORTANT:
INTAKE valve for Caterpillar C4.4 engines (4.4L, 4-cylinder). The Cat C4.4 IS the Perkins 1104C-44T/1104D-44T engine — internal components are identical. Perkins equivalent intake valve is 3142H091. If searching by Perkins part number, the valve is the same. Requires 4 intake valves per engine. Do NOT confuse with exhaust valve 339-9637 — intake valves have a larger head diameter.
This engine appears across a huge range of Cat equipment: 416E-434F backhoes, 242D-299D skid steers/CTLs, 906H-908M wheel loaders, and 305.5-308E2 excavators. Also found in JCB 3CX/4CX, Massey Ferguson 5400-series, and many other OEMs using the Perkins 1104. When replacing, inspect valve guides for wear, check seats for pitting/recession, and replace valve stem seals. Measure valve protrusion after installation. Adjust valve lash per service manual.
