Direct replacement upper main bearing with seal for Mercury and Mariner 1.5L Optimax 3-cylinder outboard engines covering 75, 80, 90, 115, and 125 HP models produced between 2004 and 2014. The integrated seal design combines the crankshaft bearing and crankcase seal into a single component, simplifying installation and ensuring proper sealing at the upper main bearing position. Mercury's Optimax direct fuel injection system was used across this entire engine family, providing the efficiency advantages of direct injection while maintaining the power-to-weight ratio of a 2-stroke design. All five horsepower ratings in this family share the same 3-cylinder block with 3.6255 inch bore, and the upper main bearing is common across all configurations from the entry-level 75 HP through the top-of-range 125 HP. The upper main bearing supports the crankshaft at the top of the powerhead and must handle the radial loads from crankshaft rotation during outboard engine operation.
