Description

UNIVERSAL MARINE WIRE — 14/2 AWG FLAT DUPLEX BOAT CABLE 100 FT SPOOL:

THE WORKHORSE CABLE FOR PLEASURE BOAT ACCESSORY WIRING:
14 AWG is the most commonly specified gauge for typical pleasure boat DC accessory branch circuits. Most marine accessories drawing 5-15 amps continuous use 14 AWG conductors. This 14/2 flat duplex provides the standard ABYC color-coded DC pair (red + black) in a single jacketed cable for clean, code-compliant installations.

CABLE CONFIGURATION:
• 2 Conductors x 14 AWG Each (Red + Black ABYC DC Color Pair)
• White FLAT Outer PVC Jacket — Low-Profile Duplex Construction
• Class K Type 3 Tinned-Copper Stranding (41 x 30 Extra-Flexible Marine Spec)
• Nominal O.D. 0.215 x 0.350 Inch — Compact Flat Profile
• 50V DC / 600V AC Voltage Rating
• 105°C Dry / 75°C Wet Temperature Rating
• UL Listed BC-5W2 Boat Cable per UL 1426

ABYC E-11 DC COLOR CODE — RED + BLACK PAIR:
Per ABYC E-11 marine electrical standards, this 14/2 flat duplex provides the traditional DC color pair in a single jacketed cable for clean, code-compliant DC distribution wiring:
• RED = Positive 12V Ungrounded Conductor
• BLACK = Traditional DC Negative / Ground Return Conductor
Black remains acceptable per current ABYC standards (yellow has been preferred since the 2008 revision for new construction).

WHEN TO USE 14/2 — STANDARD 15A BRANCH CIRCUITS:
• 16/2 cable (smaller, ~10A) — small bilge pumps, nav lights, low-current accessories
• 14/2 THIS ITEM (~15A) — STANDARD BRANCH CIRCUITS, most pleasure boat accessories
• 12/2 cable (~25A) — distribution feeds, larger pumps, stereo amplifiers
• 10/2 cable (~30-40A) — subpanel feeds, smaller inverters
• 8/2 and larger — high-current main feeds, large inverters

COMMON 14/2 FLAT DUPLEX MARINE DC APPLICATIONS:
• 15 Amp DC Branch Circuit Wiring (THE MOST COMMON USE)
• Standard Bilge Pump Runs (800-1100 GPH Pumps)
• Navigation Light Circuits (Bow, Stern, Anchor — Medium-Length Runs)
• Cabin Lighting Circuits
• Helm Electronics Power Feeds
• Marine VHF Radio Dedicated Power
• GPS / Chartplotter Power Feed
• Stereo Head Unit Power
• Cigarette Lighter / 12V Outlet Circuits
• Fishfinder Power Feed
• Marine Fan Power
• Cabin LED Light Strip Circuits
• Trolling Motor Accessory Feeds
• Aerator Pump Power Cable (Medium Pumps)
• Smaller Livewell Pump Cable
• Compass Light Power
• Spotlight Power (Smaller Spotlights)
• Cockpit Accessory Power Wiring
• Switch Panel Branch Output Wiring
• Engine Compartment Light Feeds
• Trim Tab Indicator Wiring
• Marine Horn Wiring (Smaller Horns)
• Marine Bait Tank Pump Cable
• Wakeboard Tower Light Feeds
• Underwater LED Light Wiring (Smaller Units)
• Engine Hour Meter and Gauge Wiring
• Marine Toilet/Macerator Switch Wiring
• Trim Tab Pump Switch Circuit

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR (USE LARGER GAUGE OR DIFFERENT CABLE):
• Main Battery Cables — Use Heavy Gauge Single-Conductor (8, 4, 2, 1/0 AWG)
• Engine Starter Wiring — Use Heavy Gauge Single-Conductor
• Distribution Panel Main Feeds — Use 12/2 (B7W12T-21) or Larger
• Inverter Inputs — Use 10/2 (B7W10T-21) or 8/2
• Larger Bilge Pumps (1500+ GPH) — Use 12/2 or 10/2
• High-Current Loads Above ~15 Amps — Step Up to 12/2 or 10/2
• Trolling Motors (Even Smaller 12V) — Use 10/2 or 8/2 Dedicated
• AC Circuits — Use AC Triplex Cable (Black/White/Green)
• Bonding/Safety Ground — Use Single-Conductor Green Wire

COMPATIBLE VESSEL TYPES:
• All Powerboats — Center Console, Cuddy Cabin, Express Cruiser, Walk-Around
• All Sailboats — Day Sailers, Cruisers, Racing Yachts, Liveaboards
• Pontoon Boats and Houseboats
• Bass Boats and Bay Boats
• Personal Watercraft (PWC) Wiring Harness Repairs
• Outboard Motor Distribution Wiring
• Sterndrive and Inboard Engine Compartment Wiring
• RV and Trailer Marine-Grade Branch Circuit Wiring

STANDARDS COMPLIANCE:
• UL Listed UL 1426 Boat Cable Standard
• UL Listed BC-5W2 Boat Cable Classification
• ABYC E-11 Compliant (American Boat & Yacht Council)
• United States Coast Guard (USCG) Approved
• Made in USA

FITMENT NOTE:
Universal multi-conductor flat duplex marine cable — fits any marine application requiring 14/2 AWG paired DC conductors at branch circuit current capacity (~15A). Not vehicle-specific. Per ABYC E-11, red is positive 12V and black is the traditional DC negative. For round profile use B6W series. For larger AC current applications use AC triplex (black/white/green). For higher current use 12/2 (B7W12T-21); for smaller circuits use 16/2.
