Description

UNIVERSAL MARINE WIRE — 12/2 AWG FLAT DUPLEX BOAT CABLE 100 FT SPOOL:

CABLE CONFIGURATION:
• 2 Conductors x 12 AWG Each (Red + Black ABYC DC Color Pair)
• White FLAT Outer PVC Jacket — Low-Profile Duplex Construction
• Class K Type 3 Tinned-Copper Stranding (65 x 30 Extra-Flexible Marine Spec)
• Nominal O.D. 0.230 x 0.381 Inch — Compact Flat Profile
• 50V DC / 600V AC Voltage Rating
• 105°C Dry / 75°C Wet Temperature Rating
• UL Listed BC-5W2 Boat Cable per UL 1426

ABYC E-11 DC COLOR CODE — RED + BLACK PAIR:
Per ABYC E-11 marine electrical standards, this 12/2 flat duplex provides the traditional DC color pair in a single jacketed cable for clean, code-compliant DC distribution wiring:
• RED = Positive 12V Ungrounded Conductor
• BLACK = Traditional DC Negative / Ground Return Conductor
Black remains acceptable per current ABYC standards (yellow has been preferred since the 2008 revision). Red + Black is the most commonly stocked DC pair and matches existing harnesses on the majority of boats.

FLAT DUPLEX vs ROUND MULTI-CONDUCTOR — INSTALLATION ADVANTAGES:
• Low-Profile Cable Lays Flat Against Bulkheads and Stringers
• Cleaner Installation Appearance for Visible Cable Runs
• Easier to Route Along Frames with Marine Staples
• Less Protrusion Under Flooring and Carpeting
• Better for Tight Stringer Channels
• Round cable preferred when running through conduit or split loom

WHEN TO USE 12/2 — MEDIUM-CURRENT DC CIRCUITS (~25A):
• 16/2 cable (smaller, ~10A) — bilge pumps, nav lights, accessories
• 14/2 cable (~15A) — branch circuits, helm electronics
• 12/2 THIS ITEM (~25A) — distribution feeds, larger pumps, stereo amps
• 10/2 cable (~30-40A) — subpanel feeds, smaller inverters
• 8/2 and larger — high-current main feeds, large inverters

COMMON 12/2 FLAT DUPLEX MARINE DC APPLICATIONS:
• 25 Amp DC Distribution Panel Branch Feeds
• Larger Bilge Pump Dedicated Cable (1000-1500 GPH Pumps)
• Helm Gauge Cluster Power Feed (Medium Current)
• Stereo System Power Feed (Medium Marine Amplifiers)
• Marine Refrigerator Power Cable (Smaller-Medium Units)
• Smaller Trolling Motor 12V Dedicated Cable
• Marine Horn Wiring (Both Conductors)
• Smaller Windlass / Anchor Winch Dedicated Feed
• High-Power Spotlight and Searchlight Cable
• Cabin Lighting Circuit Feeds (Longer Runs)
• Subpanel Feeds in Smaller Vessels
• Trim Tab Pump Power Cable
• Aerator and Livewell Pump Cable (Larger Pumps)
• Bait Tank Pump Power Cable
• Engine Room Ventilation Fan Power
• Wakeboard Tower Accessory Feeds
• Underwater LED Light Feeds (Larger Units)
• Deck Wash Pump Power Cable
• Macerator Pump Power Cable (Smaller Macerators)
• Cockpit Light Bar Feeds
• Marine Pump Switch to Pump Run

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR (USE LARGER GAUGE OR DIFFERENT CABLE):
• Main Battery Cables — Use Heavy Gauge Single-Conductor (8, 4, 2, 1/0 AWG)
• Engine Starter Wiring — Use Heavy Gauge Single-Conductor
• Inverter Inputs Above 500W — Use 10/2 (B7W10T-21) or 8/2
• High-Current Loads Above ~25 Amps — Use 10/2 or Larger
• Windlass on Larger Boats — Use 8 AWG or 6 AWG Single-Conductor
• AC Circuits — Use AC Triplex Cable (Black/White/Green)
• Bonding/Safety Ground — Use Single-Conductor Green Wire

COMPATIBLE VESSEL TYPES:
• All Powerboats — Center Console, Cuddy Cabin, Express Cruiser, Walk-Around
• All Sailboats — Day Sailers, Cruisers, Racing Yachts
• Pontoon Boats and Houseboats with Medium-Current DC Distribution
• Bass Boats and Bay Boats
• Personal Watercraft (PWC) Larger Models
• Outboard Motor Distribution Wiring
• Sterndrive and Inboard Engine Compartment Wiring
• RV and Trailer Marine-Grade Medium-Current DC Wiring

STANDARDS COMPLIANCE:
• UL Listed UL 1426 Boat Cable Standard
• UL Listed BC-5W2 Boat Cable Classification
• ABYC E-11 Compliant (American Boat & Yacht Council)
• United States Coast Guard (USCG) Approved
• Made in USA

FITMENT NOTE:
Universal multi-conductor flat duplex marine cable — fits any marine application requiring 12/2 AWG paired DC conductors at medium current capacity. Not vehicle-specific. Per ABYC E-11, red is positive 12V and black is the traditional DC negative. For round profile use B6W series. For larger AC current applications use AC triplex (black/white/green). For higher current use 10/2 (B7W10T-21); for smaller circuits use 14/2 or 16/2.
