Description

UNIVERSAL MARINE WIRE — 10 AWG GREEN TINNED COPPER PRIMARY WIRE 100 FT SPOOL:

ABYC E-11 STANDARD — GREEN COLOR USE (BONDING / SAFETY GROUND):
Per ABYC E-11 marine electrical standards, GREEN color wire is designated for BONDING and SAFETY GROUND conductors. At 10 AWG (medium gauge), this green marine cable is the CORRECT SAFETY GROUND SIZE for 30A AC marine shore power systems — the most common AC configuration on pleasure boats. Also used for medium-size inverter grounds, medium engine bonding, and 30A AC distribution panel safety grounds.

30A AC SHORE POWER COMPLIANCE:
Per ABYC E-11/E-8 standards, AC safety ground (green) conductors must be sized to match the supply conductor ampacity. For 30A AC marine shore power systems (the most common pleasure boat configuration with the standard L5-30R inlet), 10 AWG green is the correct safety ground gauge. Using smaller gauge violates ABYC standards and may fail USCG and marine survey inspections.

GAUGE HIERARCHY FOR GREEN BONDING WIRE — WHEN TO USE 10 AWG:
• 14 AWG Green = Branch bonding (electronics chassis, small through-hulls)
• 12 AWG Green = Main bonding (smaller engines, fuel tanks)
• 10 AWG Green = MEDIUM bonding, 30A AC safety ground (this item)
• 8 AWG Green = Heavy main bonding, 50A AC safety ground, lightning
• 4 AWG / 2 AWG Green = 100A+ AC safety grounds, heavy lightning

COMMON 10 AWG MARINE MEDIUM BONDING / SAFETY GROUND APPLICATIONS:
• 30A AC Shore Power Safety Ground Conductor (Primary Use)
• 30A AC Distribution Panel Safety Ground Run
• L5-30R Marine AC Inlet Safety Ground Wiring
• Medium Inverter Safety Ground (500-1000W Marine Inverters)
• Medium Bonding System Runs
• Mid-Size Engine Bonding (Smaller V8s, Larger I4 Engines)
• Medium Fuel Tank Bonding (20-50 Gallon Tanks)
• Generator Safety Ground (Smaller Marine Generators)
• Battery Charger AC Input Safety Ground (10-30A Chargers)
• Marine Air Conditioning Safety Ground (Smaller Reverse-Cycle AC Units)
• Watermaker Safety Ground (Smaller Units)
• Medium Through-Hull Fitting Bonding (Mid-Size Bronze Fittings)
• Anti-Galvanic Bonding for Medium-Value Underwater Equipment
• Sterndrive Auxiliary Bonding (Where Medium Gauge Sufficient)
• Trim Tab System Bonding
• Battery Bank Medium-Sized Interconnect Bonding
• Marine Refrigeration AC Input Ground
• Cockpit GFCI Receptacle Safety Ground Run
• Cabin AC Outlet Receptacle Safety Ground Wiring
• Galvanic Isolator Connection (Medium-Capacity Isolators)

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR (USE LARGER GAUGE):
• 50A AC Shore Power Safety Ground — Use 8 AWG Green (COB-A2008T-03)
• Lightning Protection Main Ground — Use 8 AWG, 4 AWG, or 2 AWG
• Large Engine Block Main Bonding — Use 8 AWG or Larger
• Large Inverter (1000W+) Safety Ground — Use 8 AWG
• 100A+ AC Safety Grounds — Use 4 AWG or 2 AWG

COMPATIBLE VESSEL TYPES:
• All Powerboats — Center Console, Cuddy Cabin, Express Cruiser, Walk-Around
• All Sailboats — Day Sailers, Cruisers, Racing Yachts, Liveaboards
• Pontoon Boats and Houseboats with 30A AC Systems
• Bass Boats and Bay Boats with Medium AC Equipment
• Sterndrive and Inboard Engine Bonding Systems
• Vessels with 30A Shore Power Inlets (L5-30R Standard)
• Pleasure Boats with Medium-Sized Inverters and Chargers

STANDARDS COMPLIANCE:
• UL Listed UL1426 Boat Cable Standard
• ABYC E-11 Compliant (American Boat & Yacht Council)
• ABYC E-8 Compliant (AC Electrical Systems on Boats)
• United States Coast Guard (USCG) Specifications
• Made in USA

FITMENT NOTE:
Universal medium-gauge marine bonding cable — fits any marine application requiring 10 AWG green safety ground or bonding conductor. Per ABYC E-11/E-8, 10 AWG is the correct safety ground size for 30A AC marine shore power systems. For 50A AC systems use 8 AWG (COB-A2008T-03). For lighter branch bonding use 12 AWG or 14 AWG. Green wire is for bonding/safety ground only — NOT for current-carrying conductors.
