PRODUCT DETAILS:
This center main bearing kit includes loose needle rollers and the outer race for Mercury and Mariner V6 3.0-liter 2-stroke outboard engines from 200 horsepower to 300 horsepower. The center main bearing supports the crankshaft at its center journal position in the V6 powerhead, providing critical support at the highest-loaded bearing location in the crankshaft assembly. Compatible with Mercury 3.0L V6 engines including carbureted 225HP, EFI 225HP and 250HP, Pro Max 300HP, Optimax 200HP and 225HP, and Sea Pro 225HP models from 1994 through 2004. The loose needle roller design with hardened outer race allows for maximum load capacity at the center main position where crankshaft loads are greatest during high-RPM operation. Both the needle rollers and outer race should be replaced together during engine rebuild to ensure proper bearing clearance and prevent premature failure. Center main bearing failure can cause catastrophic crankshaft damage and engine seizure if worn bearings are not replaced during powerhead rebuild.
