Exhaust gasket for Kawasaki Jet Ski JS 400 JS 550 and SX 550 personal watercraft. The JS 400 uses a 400cc 2-stroke twin cylinder engine producing 27 HP with premix lubrication and CDI ignition. The JS 550 and SX 550 use a 530cc 2-stroke twin cylinder engine. The SX 550 features reed valve induction oil injection and produces 47 horsepower. This gasket provides the critical seal at the exhaust pipe junction. On marine 2-stroke engines the exhaust system generates essential back pressure for proper fuel scavenging and combustion efficiency. Any exhaust leak changes this pressure balance resulting in lean fuel mixture overheating and potential piston seizure. The water cooled exhaust on personal watercraft adds the risk of water entering the engine through a failed exhaust gasket causing hydro lock and catastrophic damage. This replacement gasket is manufactured to specifications for a precise fit. Replace the exhaust gasket whenever the exhaust pipe is removed for service. Ensure both mating surfaces are clean and free of old gasket material before installation.
