Sea-Doo 580 650 Starter Gasket
Replacement starter gasket for Sea-Doo personal watercraft equipped with the Rotax 587 580cc and Rotax 657 650cc 2-stroke twin cylinder engines. The Rotax 587 has a 76mm bore and 64mm stroke producing 56 HP. The Rotax 657 has a 78mm bore and 68mm stroke producing 70 HP. This gasket seals the starter motor mounting location on the engine preventing oil and coolant leaks. A deteriorated starter gasket allows fluid leaks that can contaminate the electrical connections at the starter motor and cause corrosion. On marine engines any fluid leak near electrical components accelerates corrosion in the salt water environment. Replace this gasket whenever the starter motor is removed for service or rebuilding. Clean both mating surfaces before installing the new gasket and torque all fasteners to factory specification for a proper seal.
