This 81mm bore cylinder sleeve is designed for the Tiger Shark personal watercraft powered by the 999cc 3-cylinder 2-stroke engine with 81mm bore and 64.6mm stroke. The cylinder sleeve is a precision-machined cast iron liner that presses into the aluminum cylinder casting to restore the cylinder bore when the original bore has become worn, scored, or damaged. Compatible with all Tiger Shark 1000cc models from 1997 through 1998 including the Daytona 1000, Monte Carlo 1000, TS-L 1000, and TS-R 1000 personal watercraft. The sleeve is supplied undersized and must be bored and honed to final dimensions after installation to achieve the correct piston-to-cylinder wall clearance for the Tiger Shark 1000cc engine. Proper cylinder bore condition is essential for maintaining compression and oil control in the 2-stroke engine where the piston rings must seal against both combustion gases and crankcase charge. Professional machine shop installation is required for pressing the sleeve into the cylinder and boring to final specifications with proper crosshatch surface finish. Verify your engine model and bore size before ordering to ensure correct application.
