CHARGING CABLE UPGRADE — READ BEFORE INSTALLING:
This alternator produces 220 amps against the 145 amps of the unit it replaces. The factory charging cable and fusible link are sized for the original output and can overheat if the full output of this alternator is drawn through them. If you intend to run the added capacity, fit a heavier main charging cable with a correctly rated fuse at the alternator end. Have the installation carried out or checked by a qualified auto electrician

FITMENT NOTES:
• CHROME FINISHED — this unit carries a polished chrome housing rather than the cast grey finish of the factory alternator. It is a dress-up part as well as an output upgrade, suited to show trucks, custom builds and detailed engine bays
• DIRECT BOLT-IN — Delco AD244 type case, 6-groove serpentine pulley, 4-pin connector, 12:00 plug clock, two 10.0mm unthreaded mounting ears. No bracket modification required
• Clockwise rotation, negative ground, internal regulator and internal fan
• Output stud is M6-1.0. The larger cable this alternator needs may require a ring terminal change
• HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATORS PRODUCE LESS AT IDLE. Rated output is reached at cruising engine speed, not at idle. If the vehicle spends long periods idling with a heavy load, a smaller pulley or a second battery may be needed
• Suits vehicles with aftermarket audio systems, winches, plough gear, inverters, auxiliary lighting or upfitted work equipment
• The original 145 amp AD244 remains the correct choice for a standard vehicle with no added electrical load
• Verify the number on your original alternator. GM used several alternator families across these years and the AD244 is only one of them
