300 AMP UPGRADE OVER THE ORIGINAL 160 AMP UNIT:
• Original factory alternator is rated 160 amps. This unit produces 300 amps
• Retains the 6-groove serpentine pulley and counter clockwise rotation
• Built for winches, light bars, on-board air, inverters and aftermarket audio
• Suits trail rigs, overland builds and recovery vehicles carrying added load

ENGINE AND CHARGING SYSTEM DATA:

• This Unit: 300 Amps at 12 Volts

CHARGING CABLE UPGRADE — READ BEFORE INSTALLING:
This alternator produces nearly twice the current of the 160 amp unit it replaces. The factory charging cable is sized for the original output and will overheat if the full output of this alternator is drawn through it. Run a 4 gauge cable from the battery positive to the alternator output post, with a correctly rated fuse, and leave the original wiring in place. Have the installation carried out or checked by a qualified auto electrician

FITMENT NOTES:
• COUNTER CLOCKWISE ROTATION. The Pentastar alternator turns CCW. A clockwise unit will not charge
• 6-groove serpentine pulley, internal fan, internal regulator at the 10:00 clock position, M8-1.25 B+ terminal, negative ground
• Fits the JK generation Wrangler with the 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 only. The 3.8 litre V6 fitted to 2007-2011 JK models uses a different alternator
• NOT FOR THE JL GENERATION. The 2018 and later Wrangler JL and the Gladiator use Chrysler 56029597AA and 56029803AA, which are different units. 2018 is a split year with both JK and JL sold alongside each other, so identify your vehicle by generation rather than by model year alone
• HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATORS PRODUCE LESS AT IDLE. Rated output is reached at cruising engine speed. If the vehicle spends long periods idling with a winch or heavy accessory load, a second battery is worth considering
• The standard 160 amp alternator remains the correct choice for a Wrangler with no added electrical load
