WHAT THIS MOTOR DOES:
• On Caterpillar off-highway trucks and motor graders this motor drives the supplemental steering pump. It provides emergency steering assist if the engine driven pump loses pressure or the engine stops while the machine is moving
• On Haldex, J.S. Barnes, Parker Hannifin, Webster Electric and Skidmore units it drives the hydraulic power pack directly

FITMENT NOTES:
• 24 VOLT DC SYSTEM ONLY — this motor will not work on 12-volt machines
• Series wound with 4 field coils, clockwise rotation. A counterclockwise motor will not serve
• 5 inch / 127mm motor body diameter, 10.150 in / 257.8mm overall length
• SLOTTED SHAFT, 17mm outside diameter. The slot drives the pump coupling, so confirm your pump uses a slotted rather than a keyed or splined shaft
• Terminal 2 is 3/8-16 — verify your cable terminal size
• Double ball bearing construction rather than bushings, which suits the continuous duty of a hydraulic power pack
• Caterpillar, Prestolite and Western Motors each carry their own number for this motor and Prestolite used several MFY suffixes across the production run. Match the number on the original motor where possible
• SUPPLEMENTAL STEERING IS A SAFETY SYSTEM. Have the installation and function tested by a qualified technician after fitting
