• Carburetor: Mercarb 2-Barrel, Large Base 3-3/4in x 2in (95mm x 51mm)
• Mercarb identification: single idle mixture screw on the base between the throats

FITMENT NOTES — READ BEFORE ORDERING:
• BASE BOLT PATTERN IS THE GOVERNING CHECK. This carburetor has the LARGE base, 3-3/4in x 2in (95mm x 51mm). Engines originally fitted with the SMALL base 3-1/4in x 2in Mercarb WILL NOT ACCEPT this carburetor
• Early production 120, 140, 2.5L and 3.0L engines may carry either base size — measure the intake manifold flange on your engine rather than relying on model year
• Confirm engine serial number, original carburetor part number and throttle linkage style before ordering
• LINKAGE: 864940A01 and its current replacement 8M0045397 are the LONG LINKAGE units. 864941A01 is the SHORT LINKAGE unit. This assembly ships with the short linkage installed and the long linkage in the box, so it covers both setups
• 864940A03 is a Mercury interim number in the same supersession chain and is covered
• DOES NOT FIT MerCruiser 5.0L 2-barrel Mercarb engines — those use Mercury 3310-864942A01, a different carburetor
• NOT a direct replacement for MerCruiser 4.3L V6 2-barrel Mercarb engines. Some 4.3L installations share the large base pattern but require different jetting, so treat 4.3L as a modification rather than a drop-in fit
• Not for MerCruiser 3.7L / 224 CID inline four, or any Rochester Quadrajet 4-barrel or Weber / MerCarb 4-barrel engine
• Fine tuning of idle mixture and jet selection may be required after installation depending on fuel pressure, altitude and engine condition
