IMPORTANT:
This is an MLS (multi-layer steel) cylinder head gasket for the Cummins QSB3.3 with 4-valve head configuration. The QSB3.3 was produced in both 2-valve and 4-valve versions — this gasket fits ONLY the 4-valve head. If your engine has 2 valves per cylinder (older B3.3 design), this gasket will NOT fit. Confirm valve count before ordering by checking the valve cover or engine dataplate.

Failure symptoms: white exhaust smoke, coolant loss without visible external leak, milky oil on dipstick, overheating, or loss of compression on one or more cylinders. MLS head gaskets rarely fail unless the engine has overheated or head bolts have lost clamping force. Always check the head and block deck surfaces for flatness before installing a new gasket — warped surfaces will cause repeat failure. Replace head bolts if they are torque-to-yield design per the Cummins service manual.
