IMPORTANT:
This is an OIL PUMP gasket for the FPT N45 engine (4.5L 4-cyl) — it seals the oil pump housing to the engine block. Do NOT confuse with the oil pan gasket or the front cover gasket. The FPT N45 engine is used in both Case IH (Farmall 90/100/110) and New Holland (T4.75 through T4.115) tractors — same engine, same gasket across both brands.
Failure symptoms: low oil pressure at idle (especially when hot), oil pressure warning light, or external oil leak from the oil pump housing area. When replacing this gasket, inspect the oil pump gears for wear and the pump housing mating surface for scoring. Also inspect the oil pickup tube screen and O-ring — if the pickup tube O-ring is deteriorated, it can cause the pump to draw air instead of oil, resulting in low pressure even with a new pump gasket. Paper gaskets require clean, dry mating surfaces for proper sealing — remove all old gasket material completely.
