Valve Cover Gasket Compatible With Caterpillar Th62/Th63/Th83 1998-2005 3054 4.4L 4-Cyl Diesel

IMPORTANT:
This valve cover gasket fits the Cat 3054/3054B engine (4.4L 4-cyl) used in older Cat backhoe loaders (416C/416D/420D/424D/428C/428D) and telehandlers (TH62/TH63/TH83) from the 1996-2008 era. The 3054/3054B is the predecessor to the C4.4 engine. Do NOT use this gasket on C4.4 engines — the valve cover design changed with the C4.4 and the gaskets are not interchangeable.

Failure symptoms: oil seeping from the valve cover, oil dripping onto the exhaust manifold. The cork/rubber gasket material dries out and becomes brittle with age, especially on high-hour machines. When replacing, clean both the valve cover and cylinder head mating surfaces completely. Inspect the valve cover for warping — if the cover is warped, a new gasket alone will not stop the leak. The 3054 engine is a Perkins design but valve cover gaskets for the Cat-branded version may differ from Perkins-branded 1104C gaskets in minor dimensions.
