IMPORTANT:
This is an OIL COOLER gasket for the Perkins 1106D engine (Cat C6.6) — it seals the oil cooler housing to the engine block. Do NOT confuse with the valve cover gasket or the oil pan gasket. The oil cooler on the 1106D is an engine-mounted oil-to-coolant heat exchanger. If coolant is mixing with your engine oil (milky/frothy oil), the oil cooler gasket or the cooler core itself may be the cause — inspect both during replacement.
Failure symptoms: oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil (cross-mixing), external oil/coolant leak from the oil cooler housing area. When replacing this gasket, inspect the oil cooler core for internal leaks by pressure testing. Also inspect the mating surfaces for corrosion or pitting that could prevent proper sealing. The 1106D engine is found in Cat 320D/320DL excavators and many Perkins-powered industrial applications. Cat equivalent engine designation is C6.6.
