IMPORTANT:
CYLINDER #2 high-pressure line for the Cat 3044C engine (Mitsubishi S4S / Cat C3.4). Each cylinder has a unique line shape — NOT interchangeable between positions. This is a MECHANICAL indirect injection engine — do not confuse with the later electronic C3.4B.
The Cat 3044C is a Mitsubishi-built S4S — NOT related to the Perkins 404C-22 (Cat C2.2/3024C) despite both being small 4-cylinder Cat diesels. The 3044C is 3.3L, the 3024C is 2.2L — injection lines are completely different. Verify engine displacement on model plate.
Symptoms: fuel leak at fittings, diesel odor, single-cylinder misfire. These indirect injection engines run lower pressures than DI, but cracked lines are still a fire risk. Use flare-nut wrenches and bleed fuel system after install.
⚠️ Confirm 3044C/S4S 3.3L — not 3024C/C2.2 2.2L or electronic C3.4B.
