IMPORTANT:
Perkins 3681P047 is a timing gear cover gasket for the Perkins 1100 series (1103C/1104C). Cat equivalent is 226-8766. The 1100 series timing cover uses multiple gaskets (3681P046, 3681P047, 3681P054 are all different pieces) — do NOT interchange them. Match the part number, not just the engine model. If your parts book shows Cat 226-8766, this is the identical gasket under the Perkins number.

Failure symptoms: oil weeping from the front timing cover area. These composite gaskets degrade over time and with oil exposure. When replacing, inspect the front crankshaft seal — if hardened or leaking, replace it during this job since the labor overlaps entirely. Clean all old gasket material from both the cover and block mating surfaces. Found across Massey Ferguson, Cat, JCB, and many industrial/agricultural applications using the Perkins 1100 series.
