IMPORTANT:
This valve cover gasket fits the Cummins QSC 8.3L 6-cylinder diesel. Supersedes earlier Cummins part number 3930906 — if your parts book shows 3930906, this is the current replacement. Do NOT confuse with valve cover gaskets for the ISC 8.3 (automotive/truck version) — the QSC is the off-highway/industrial variant and gasket dimensions may differ.

Failure symptoms: oil weeping from under the valve cover, oil dripping onto the exhaust manifold causing smoke and burning smell, or oil collecting in the valve cover bolt holes. The rubber gasket hardens from repeated heat cycles and loses its ability to seal. When replacing, clean both the valve cover rail and cylinder head mating surface. Inspect the valve cover itself for warping — a warped cover will not seal even with a new gasket. Torque bolts evenly using the sequence in the Cummins service manual.
