IMPORTANT:
This valve cover gasket fits the Cummins ISB 5.9L 24-valve engine used in 1998-2007 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 trucks. Do NOT confuse with the 12-valve 5.9L (1994-1998) which uses a completely different valve cover and gasket design. The 24-valve ISB 5.9 has a plastic valve cover that is prone to warping from heat — if your valve cover is warped, a new gasket alone will not fix the leak. Inspect the valve cover flatness before reassembly.

Failure symptoms: oil seeping down the sides of the engine, oil pooling on the exhaust manifold (smoke/smell), or oil collecting around injector tubes. On the 24-valve ISB, the valve cover gasket also seals around each injector bore — leaks in this area can be mistaken for injector O-ring failure. Replace the injector bore O-rings at the same time if they show signs of wear. Clean both mating surfaces thoroughly and torque in the correct sequence.
