IMPORTANT:
This timing gear cover gasket fits the John Deere 4045/6068 PowerTech engine family — specifically the earlier production found in 6400/6410/6510/6810 tractors and 450G/550G/650G construction equipment (1991-2003). Do NOT confuse with R520131 or R520132 which are timing cover gaskets for later 4045/6068 production — the timing cover design changed between production eras.

Failure symptoms: oil seeping from the front timing cover, oil on the crankshaft pulley area. When replacing, inspect the front crankshaft seal — replace if showing any hardening or leakage. Clean all old gasket material from both the timing cover and block surfaces. On machines from this era, also inspect the timing cover itself for cracks around bolt holes. The 4045/6068 is one of Deere's most widely used engine families and gaskets can vary by serial number.
