180°F thermostat ASSEMBLY (includes housing) for Cat 3054C/3054E engines (Perkins 1104C equivalent). Fits Cat CB-434D compactors, 906 wheel loaders, and certain 300-Series excavators.
The #1 ordering mistake: multiple thermostat assemblies exist for the Cat 3054C engine — 254-2267, 254-2268, and 254-2269 are NOT interchangeable. They fit different application builds. Check your Cat parts book by machine serial number for the correct assembly.
Cat 3054C = Perkins 1104C. The engine is Perkins-built regardless of Cat branding.
Failure symptoms: coolant leak at housing, overcooling, temperature gauge fluctuating. The plastic housing is prone to cracking — if yours is cracked, replace the full assembly.
