Failure symptoms: hard starting after filter change, fuel starvation under load, visible air bubbles in clear fuel line. When replacing this assembly, inspect all fuel hose connections for cracks — air leaks on the suction side cause intermittent stalling that mimics pump failure. Bleed the system thoroughly after installation: open bleed screw on secondary filter, crank until steady fuel flows, then tighten.
