IMPORTANT:
This is a CRANKSHAFT GEAR KEY (shaft key/woodruff key) — NOT a gear. Extremely small component (0.01 lbs) that locks the front timing gear to the crankshaft. Without this key, the crankshaft gear spins freely and the engine loses ALL timing.

Fits Cat 3013C (C1.5, 1.5L, 3-cyl) and 3024C/3024CT (C2.2, 2.2L, 4-cyl). Perkins equivalents: 403C and 404C. Used in Cat compact equipment, New Holland, and Case. When replacing the crankshaft gear, ALWAYS inspect this key — if sheared or worn, the new gear will not maintain timing. A sheared key is a common cause of sudden timing loss that is easily missed during diagnosis. Keep a spare on hand.
