This is a HAND PRIMER fuel filter assembly — combines a fuel filter and manual priming pump in one unit. Used to bleed air from fuel system after filter changes or when machine has been sitting. NOT an electric pump and NOT a mechanical transfer pump — this is an operator-actuated priming device.
Compatible with both 3029 (2.9L 3-cyl) and 4045 (4.5L 4-cyl) PowerTech engines across JD 5-Series tractors and combines (1990-2026). If your engine is hard to start after a filter change, air in the fuel system is the most likely cause. Pump this primer until resistance is felt and fuel flows freely from the bleed screw before attempting to start.
