INSTALLATION:
• Step 1: Disconnect battery negative cable for safety
• Step 2: Access existing ignition switch through control box panel
• Step 3: Disconnect 6 wires from old switch (note color positions before removal)
• Step 4: Remove old switch from 5/8" panel mounting hole
• Step 5: Install new switch in same panel hole
• Step 6: Connect 6 wires by color/terminal position to new switch
• Step 7: Test all 3 positions (OFF / RUN / START) and push-to-choke function
• Step 8: Reconnect battery and verify proper engine starting operation

NOTE: Verify your OEM part number before ordering. The 87-88107A5 push-to-choke design is specific to Mercury Marine carbureted and OptiMax DFI outboards (1994-2016). Different from Mercury 87-17009A5 ignition switch (no choke function — used on EFI/4-stroke). Confirm push-to-choke feature is present on your existing switch before ordering.
