PRODUCT DETAILS:
This upper main bearing with integrated seal is designed for Mercury and Mariner 1.5-liter Optimax 3-cylinder outboard motors ranging from 75 HP through 125 HP produced from 2004 through 2014. The Optimax direct injection system was Mercury's proprietary 2-stroke fuel injection technology that provided improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and better performance compared to carbureted 2-stroke outboards. This bearing fits the upper main position on the crankshaft and includes an integrated seal to prevent oil leakage from the crankcase at the bearing location. The 1.5L Optimax was available in 75, 80, 90, 115, and 125 HP configurations sharing the same 3-cylinder block with 3.6255 inch bore, with horsepower differences achieved through ECU tuning and exhaust configuration. A worn upper main bearing causes increased engine noise, crankshaft misalignment, power loss, and can lead to serious powerhead damage if not replaced during engine service or rebuild.
