PRODUCT DETAILS:
This upper main bearing with 1-1/2 inch inner diameter fits Mercury and Mariner 2-stroke outboard motors in 3-cylinder and 6-cylinder configurations from 60 through 200 HP produced between 1976 and 1997. The bearing fits the 3-cylinder 2.955 bore Looper 60 HP, the 6-cylinder 3.125 bore 2-liter 135, 150, and 175 HP models, and the 6-cylinder 3.375 bore 2.4-liter 175 and 200 HP models including chrome bore variants. The upper main bearing supports the crankshaft at the top of the powerhead and must handle radial loads from crankshaft rotation during engine operation. These Mercury V6 outboards were the dominant force in bass fishing, offshore fishing, and recreational boating from the late 1970s through the 1990s. A worn upper main bearing causes engine noise, crankshaft misalignment, and power loss that can lead to powerhead damage.
