PRODUCT DETAILS:
This lower rod bearing is a caged needle bearing assembly designed for Yamaha V6 2-stroke outboard engines from 200 horsepower to 300 horsepower covering model years 1990 through 2015. The connecting rod lower bearing installs at the big end of the connecting rod where it rides on the crankshaft journal, providing the critical bearing surface between the rod and crank. Compatible with Yamaha V6 76-degree carbureted models with 3.544-inch bore including the 200HP, 225HP, and 250HP, as well as V6 3.3-liter HPDI models with 3.660-inch bore from 200HP through 300HP. The Yamaha V6 HPDI engines are among the most powerful 2-stroke outboard engines ever produced, and the connecting rod bearing must be in excellent condition for reliable high-performance operation. The caged needle bearing design retains the needle rollers in a precision cage for proper spacing and alignment during high-RPM operation. Always replace rod bearings during engine rebuild to prevent premature failure from worn bearing surfaces that can lead to rod knock and crankshaft damage. Verify your part number before ordering to confirm correct application for your specific engine.
