Description

UNIVERSAL MARINE WIRE — 10/2 AWG FLAT DUPLEX BOAT CABLE 100 FT SPOOL:

CABLE CONFIGURATION:
• 2 Conductors x 10 AWG Each (Red + Yellow Modern ABYC E-11 DC Pair)
• White FLAT Outer PVC Jacket — Low-Profile Duplex Construction
• Class K Tinned-Copper Stranding
• 600 Volt Rated for Marine DC Distribution Use
• 105°C Dry / 75°C Wet Temperature Rating
• UL Listed BC-5W2 Boat Cable per UL 1426
• ABYC E-11, USCG Approved, Made in USA

ABYC E-11 MODERN DC COLOR CODE — RED + YELLOW PAIR:
Per the 2008 ABYC E-11 revision, YELLOW is the PREFERRED color for DC negative conductors in new construction (replacing black as the preferred designation). RED remains the standard for positive 12V conductors. This 10/2 flat duplex provides the modern ABYC-preferred color pair in a single jacketed cable.
• RED = Positive 12V Ungrounded Conductor
• YELLOW = Modern Preferred DC Negative (Per 2008 ABYC E-11 Revision)

FLAT DUPLEX vs ROUND MULTI-CONDUCTOR — WHEN TO USE FLAT:
• Low-Profile Cable Lays Flat Against Bulkheads and Stringers
• Cleaner Installation Appearance for Visible Cable Runs
• Easier to Route Along Frames with Marine Staples
• Less Protrusion Under Flooring and Carpeting
• Better for Tight Stringer Channels
• Easier to Pass Under Cable Raceways
• Round cable (B6W series) is preferred when running through conduit or loom

MODERN ABYC PAIR vs TRADITIONAL — WHICH TO CHOOSE:
• Red + Yellow (this cable) = MODERN ABYC E-11 (preferred for new construction since 2008)
• Red + Black (B6W16T-21 16/2 round) = Traditional ABYC (still acceptable, common in older boats)
Both are ABYC compliant. Yellow is preferred for new builds and modern surveys; black is acceptable for matching existing harnesses and traditional restorations.

FITMENT NOTE:
Universal multi-conductor flat duplex marine cable — fits any DC marine application requiring 10/2 AWG paired modern ABYC-preferred conductors. Not vehicle-specific. Per 2008 ABYC E-11, yellow is the modern preferred DC negative color (red is positive). For round profile use B6W series. For larger AC current applications use AC triplex (black/white/green). For traditional black DC negative pair use B6W16T-21 or use single-conductor wire.
