Description

UNIVERSAL MARINE WIRE — 8 AWG RED TINNED COPPER PRIMARY WIRE 100 FT SPOOL:

ABYC E-11 STANDARD — RED COLOR USE (POSITIVE 12V UNGROUNDED CONDUCTOR):
Per ABYC E-11 marine electrical standards, RED color wire is designated for POSITIVE 12V ungrounded conductors. At 8 AWG (~50 amps continuous capacity), this heavy-gauge red marine cable is intended for HIGH CURRENT positive power applications — main battery feeds, inverter input, windlass, bow thruster, and other high-amp installations.

GAUGE COMPARISON — WHEN TO USE 8 AWG:
• 14 AWG (~15-20A) = Branch circuits, individual accessories, lighting
• 12 AWG (~25A) = Main feeds, helm electronics, distribution panel branches
• 8 AWG (~50A) = HIGH CURRENT main feeds, inverters, windlass, starter cables
• 4 AWG / 2 AWG / 1/0 AWG = Large starter cables, big inverters, battery cables

COMMON 8 AWG MARINE HIGH-CURRENT POSITIVE APPLICATIONS:
• Battery to Distribution Panel Main Feed (Up to 50 Amp Service)
• Battery Switch to Inverter Input (Medium Inverters 1000-2000W)
• Windlass / Anchor Winch Positive Feed
• Bow Thruster Positive Feed (Smaller Thrusters)
• Stern Thruster Positive Feed
• Engine Starter Cable (Smaller Engines, Where 8 AWG Sufficient)
• Trolling Motor Positive (24V/36V Systems with Smaller Motors)
• Tilt/Trim Motor Main Feed (High-Amp Installations)
• Large Bilge Pump Positive Feed (1500-2500 GPH)
• High-Current Macerator Pump Positive
• Marine Refrigerator and Freezer Main Feed (Larger Units)
• Cabin Heater Positive Feed (Smaller Diesel/Electric Heaters)
• Watermaker Positive Feed (Smaller Units)
• Air Conditioning Compressor 12V Feed (DC Marine AC)
• Battery Charger Output Positive (50A Smart Chargers)
• Solar Charge Controller Output (Larger Solar Arrays)
• Stereo Amplifier Main Power Feed (1000W+ Marine Amplifiers)
• Battery Bank Interconnect (Smaller Battery Banks Under 200Ah)
• Battery Switch Outputs to Bus Bars

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR (USE LARGER GAUGE):
• Main Starter Cables on Large Engines — Use 4, 2, or 1/0 AWG
• Large Inverter Feeds (2000W+) — Use 4 AWG or 2 AWG
• Large Bow Thrusters — Use 2 AWG or 1/0 AWG
• Large Battery Bank Interconnect Cables — Use 2 AWG or 1/0 AWG
• Large Trolling Motor Main Feeds (24V/36V High-Power) — Use 4 AWG

COMPATIBLE VESSEL TYPES:
• All Powerboats — Center Console, Cuddy Cabin, Express Cruiser, Walk-Around
• All Sailboats — Day Sailers, Cruisers, Racing Yachts, Liveaboards
• Pontoon Boats and Houseboats with High-Current Accessories
• Bass Boats with High-Power Trolling Motors and Electronics
• Personal Watercraft (PWC) — Larger Models with Battery Banks
• Outboard Motor Battery Cable Repairs
• Sterndrive and Inboard Engine Starter and Charging Wiring
• RV and Trailer Marine-Grade High-Current Installations

STANDARDS COMPLIANCE:
• UL Listed UL1426 Boat Cable Standard
• ABYC E-11 Compliant (American Boat & Yacht Council)
• United States Coast Guard (USCG) Specifications
• Made in USA

FITMENT NOTE:
Universal heavy-gauge marine cable — fits any marine application requiring 8 AWG red positive high-current conductor. Not vehicle-specific. Per ABYC E-11, red is for positive 12V conductors. At 8 AWG, this cable handles high-current applications like inverters, windlass, thrusters, and large pumps. For higher current applications above ~50 amps, step up to 4 AWG, 2 AWG, or 1/0 AWG. For lower current branch circuits, use 12 AWG or 14 AWG.
