This center main bearing kit includes needle rollers and the outer race for Mercury and Mariner 1.5-liter Optimax 3-cylinder 2-stroke outboard engines from 75 horsepower to 125 horsepower. The center main bearing supports the crankshaft at its center journal position in the 3-cylinder Optimax powerhead, providing critical support for smooth crankshaft rotation under high-RPM operation. Compatible with all Mercury 1.5L Optimax 3-cylinder engines with 3.6255-inch bore including 75HP, 80HP, 90HP, 115HP, and 125HP models from 2004 through 2012. The Mercury Optimax direct injection system requires precise crankshaft positioning for accurate fuel delivery timing, making center main bearing condition especially critical in these engines. Both the needle rollers and outer race should be replaced together during engine rebuild to ensure proper bearing clearance and prevent premature failure from mismatched components.
