This center main bearing fits Mercury and Mariner outboard motors in 2-cylinder, 3-cylinder, and 4-cylinder configurations from 30 through 60 HP produced between 1986 and 2014. The bearing covers the 2-cylinder 2.992 bore 30 and 40 HP models, the 3-cylinder 2.875 bore cross flow 50 HP, the 3-cylinder 2.992 bore 40, 50, 55, and 60 HP models, the Bigfoot 60 HP, and the jet drive 30 and 40 HP variants. The center main bearing supports the crankshaft between the cylinders and must handle radial loads from crankshaft rotation during outboard engine operation. These Mercury mid-range outboards were among the most popular engines for bass boats, pontoon boats, and general recreational boating from the late 1980s through the 2010s. A worn center main bearing causes engine noise, crankshaft misalignment, and power loss that can lead to powerhead damage.
