This crankshaft upper main bearing is a cylindrical bearing designed for Yamaha 2-stroke outboard motors in the 20 HP, 25 HP, and 30 HP range from 1993 through 2009. The bearing fits both the 2-cylinder 2.638 bore engine configuration used in the 20, 25, and 30 HP models and the 3-cylinder 2.373 bore version used in certain 30 HP models. The upper main bearing supports the crankshaft at the top of the powerhead and must handle the radial loads from crankshaft rotation during outboard engine operation. The Yamaha 25 HP 2-stroke outboard had one of the longest production runs in this family, spanning from 1994 through 2009, making this bearing applicable across a very wide range of model years.
