This 80mm bore cylinder sleeve is designed for the Yamaha WaveRunner powered by the 1131cc 3-cylinder 2-stroke power valve engine. The cylinder sleeve is a precision-machined cast iron liner that presses into the aluminum cylinder casting to restore the cylinder bore when the original bore has become worn, scored, or damaged. Compatible with the Yamaha GP-R 1200 from 2000 through 2002, XLT 1200 from 2002 through 2005, XL LTD 1200 from 1999 through 2000, and XL 1200 from 2001 equipped with the power valve engine. The power valve design varies the exhaust port opening to optimize engine performance across the RPM range, and the cylinder sleeve must maintain proper port alignment after installation. The sleeve is supplied undersized and must be bored and honed to final dimensions after installation to achieve the correct piston-to-cylinder wall clearance. Professional machine shop installation is required for pressing the sleeve into the cylinder and boring to final specifications with proper crosshatch surface finish. Verify your engine model and bore size before ordering to ensure correct application.
