The precision-manufactured needle bearing provides reliable operation with proper dimensional tolerances for the crankshaft and connecting rod bearing surfaces. Mercury used this needle bearing across multiple engine families spanning the 3-cylinder and 4-cylinder Looper series, the 1.5L OptiMax 3-cylinder engines, and the 6-cylinder 3L engines in EFI, OptiMax, Pro XS, Pro Max, and XB configurations. All applicable Mariner outboard models that share the same part number also use this bearing. Replaces Mercury part numbers 29-88258 and 29-88258001.
