Manufacturer Part Number:
04.2165T
Pin Specifications:
• Outer Diameter: 22mm
• Material: Case-hardened chrome steel
Engine Specifications:
• Rotax 947/951cc 2-Cylinder 2-Stroke — Liquid Cooled
• Bore × Stroke: 88mm × 78mm
• Carbureted models and DI (Direct Injection) models use the same piston pin
• Two pistons per engine — order quantity of 2 for a complete set
Notes:
• The 951cc Rotax is a 2-cylinder engine — requires 2 piston pins per engine
• Carbureted (GSX LTD, GTX, RX, XP) and DI models use the same pin
• Replace during top-end rebuild or when pin shows wear
• Always replace circlips when removing pin — never reuse
Function:
The piston pin (wrist pin) connects the piston to the connecting rod small end, transferring combustion force while allowing the rod to pivot. A worn or scored pin causes knocking, accelerated bore wear, and potential catastrophic failure.
Important — Quantity:
• The 951cc Rotax is a 2-cylinder engine
• Each cylinder requires one piston pin
• Order quantity of 2 for a complete engine rebuild
When to Replace:
• During any top-end rebuild (piston, rings, cylinder re-bore/re-plate)
• When pin shows visible wear, scoring, discoloration, or blue heat marks
• When pin has measurable play in the connecting rod small end bearing
Installation Notes:
• Always replace piston pin circlips — never reuse old circlips
• Apply assembly oil to pin before installation
• Ensure circlips are fully seated — improper seating causes engine damage
• Verify connecting rod small end bearing condition before reassembly
• Marine engines see high sustained RPM — inspect all rotating components
PRODUCT NOTICE:
As a parts distributor we mostly sell aftermarket parts (any OEM parts would be noted as such). Aftermarket parts are not sourced from the original vehicle or equipment manufacturer, but are designed to function the same as - if not better than - the original. All parts sold are new.
