The Caterpillar C3.3B is a Kubota built engine supplied to Caterpillar. That is why the Kubota number 1G398-64012 and the Caterpillar number 397-9953 describe the same alternator, and why a Cat skid steer and a Kubota powered machine take the same part

FITMENT NOTES:
• 12 VOLT, 80 amp, clockwise rotation, internal fan and internal regulator at the 2:00 clock
• SINGLE GROOVE SOLID V1 PULLEY. Count the grooves on your original before ordering
• Three ear mount with different holes: Ear 1 is M8x1.25 THREADED, Ears 2 and 3 are 10.5mm unthreaded. Ear thicknesses are 12.8mm, 13.1mm and 16mm. Check all three against the original
• Terminals: B+ is M6x1.00, IG, L and W are spade. The W terminal supplies a tachometer signal on some machines
• PULLEY DIAMETER — published figures differ between sources, some listing 72.8mm and others 73.6mm. Measure your original pulley if diameter is critical to your installation
• LRC suffix machines are the reduced emission Cat variants and use the same alternator as the standard machines
• The D3 series machines built 2020 and later carry the same alternator as the earlier D series
