Sea-Doo RFI 800 Throttle Body Gasket
Replacement throttle body gasket for Sea-Doo personal watercraft equipped with the Rotax 787 RFI 782cc 2-stroke twin cylinder engine. This engine features an 82mm bore and 74mm stroke producing 110 horsepower with Rotax Fuel Injection and RAVE power valves. This gasket seals the throttle body to the intake manifold on the fuel injected Rotax 787 engine preventing air leaks that disrupt the air fuel ratio. On fuel injected 2-stroke marine engines the ECU calculates fuel delivery based on throttle position and air flow. Any air leak at the throttle body gasket introduces unmeasured air causing lean conditions that lead to overheating and piston damage. The RFI system is more sensitive to air leaks than carbureted engines because the fuel injection relies on precise air measurement. Replace this gasket whenever the throttle body is removed for service. Clean both mating surfaces before installing the new gasket and torque fasteners to factory specification.
