Kawasaki TS 650 Exhaust Gasket
Replacement exhaust gasket for the Kawasaki Jet Ski TS 650 personal watercraft equipped with the 635cc 2-stroke twin cylinder engine. This engine features a 76mm bore and 70mm stroke producing 52 horsepower with a single Keihin CDK carburetor CDI ignition reed valve induction oil injection and a 7.2 to 1 compression ratio. This gasket seals the exhaust pipe connection preventing exhaust gas leaks. On 2-stroke engines proper exhaust sealing is critical because the exhaust system creates the back pressure needed for correct fuel scavenging. A leaking exhaust gasket disrupts this pressure balance causing lean running conditions that lead to overheating and piston damage. On personal watercraft the exhaust system is water cooled and a failed gasket can also allow water intrusion into the exhaust port causing hydro lock and catastrophic engine failure. Always inspect exhaust gaskets during routine maintenance and replace if cracked compressed or damaged. Clean both mating surfaces before installing the new gasket and torque fasteners to factory specification for a proper seal. Using specification gaskets ensures correct material thickness and heat resistance for reliable sealing.
