12V High Torque Gear Reduction Starter — Norton Commando 850 MKIII
High torque gear reduction starter motor designed as a direct replacement for the original Prestolite starter on the 1975-1977 Norton Commando 850 Mark III (MKIII) Electric Start. This 12-volt OSGR unit delivers 1.4 kW of cranking power through a 4-brush motor with 9-tooth pinion gear and 15mm gear OD. The gear reduction design provides significantly higher cranking torque with lower current draw compared to the original direct drive starter, making it easier on the battery and charging system. Features clockwise rotation and mounts directly to the existing bellhousing. Replaces Norton 06-4791 and Prestolite MGD4111, 46-2226.
