This 73mm bore cylinder sleeve is designed for the Kawasaki Jet Ski personal watercraft powered by the 891cc 3-cylinder 2-stroke reed valve engine with 73mm bore and 71mm stroke. The cylinder sleeve is a precision-machined cast iron liner that presses into the aluminum cylinder casting to restore the cylinder bore when the original bore has become worn, scored, or damaged. Compatible with all Kawasaki 900cc Jet Ski models from 1995 through 2006 including the STS 900, STX 900, and ZXi 900 personal watercraft. The sleeve is supplied undersized and must be bored and honed to final dimensions after installation to achieve the correct piston-to-cylinder wall clearance for the Kawasaki 900cc engine. Proper cylinder bore condition is essential for maintaining compression and oil control in the 2-stroke engine where the piston rings must seal against both combustion gases and crankcase charge. Professional machine shop installation is required for pressing the sleeve into the cylinder and boring to final specifications with proper crosshatch surface finish.
